Summary

Roman Nassutt looks back on more than 15 years of experience in biomechanics science and business. He started in 1994 as a PhD student and later worked as an employee in the Biomechanics lab at the Technical University of Hamburg.

 

His own PhD thesis describes experimental examinations of starting procedures in artifical hip joints as one possible reason for unexpected high wear and failure.

 

He performed material testing projects for industrial partners/customers and instructed and assisted medical and mechanical scientists. He escorted 8+ engineering students to their diploma and 7+ surgeons to finish their theses and habilitations.

 

Roman Nassutt published 47+ German and 31+ English original Articles on scientific biomechanical studies. Roman Nassutt is named in 9 national and international patents as an inventor of medical implants and testing procedures.

1995 to 2000

Co-worker at TUHH

  • Assisted Prof. Erich Schneider (Switzerland) in building up a new Biomechanics Lab in Hamburg, Technical University of Hamburg;
  • Performed PhD thesis on wear examinations;
  • Expertise in mechanical testing, application of material testing machines, and design of test setups;

 

2000-2005

Engineer and head of R&D department at German endoprosthesis manufacturer ESKA Implants GmbH&Co. KG

  • Responsible for design, testing, and regulatory affairs (ISO 13485) 

2005-2008

Managing Director of German endoprosthesis manufacturer ESKA Implants AG, now Orthodynamics GmbH

  • Responsible for Production, Technical Sales plus R&D.
